CHAPTER ONE
Charles
(The Jack) is a trained Boxer. However, he has never tried to win a single
fight, as he has no wish for the attention that will come with a title. He
lives in the same house with Victoria, who saved him from a Gangster when they
were teenagers. Racked by guilt that she became scarred as a result and knowing
her love for him, Charles intends to spend the rest of his life with her
(Victoria) as just friend, even though he is not in love with her. After years
of being separated from his older brother Kelvin, Charles finally reconciles
with him (Kelvin). However, the reunion is short-lived. Kelvin attempts suicide
upon learning of the engagement of his ex-girlfriend, Clara.
Clara
is an upcoming Singer. Caught in a compromising position with Desmond, heir to
a large company, she is forced into an engagement with him (Desmond). As Kelvin
lies in a vegetative state, Charles learns of his relationship with Clara. Kelvin
had taken care of Clara and her family, often helping them out financially,
before Clara became a famous actress. Charles incorrectly assumes that Clara is
a social climber who broke up with Kelvin upon achieving success because she
thought he would be a burden. Charles blames her for his Brother (Kelvin)
current state and vows revenge.
